About Me: My passion for singing and acting began as a very young girl. My parents did not support this dream of mine; however, they did support the idea of it being a hobby. It was my grandfather and uncle who encouraged my mother to allow me to attend modeling school. "She is too short to be a model", says my mother. "Women of all sizes model in commercials, catalogs, newspaper and magazine prints. Give her the chance. If nothing comes of it, she will have gained great etiquette skills. Lord knows she needs them because she is such a Tomboy!" my uncle replied, who was a photographer in the United States military. My mother took me to Barbizon School of Models with dogmatic certainty that I would be rejected. To both my mother and my surprise I was the third young lady accepted. "She has a very unique and exotic look, and she walks with confidence", said Mrs. Beverly Windsor to my mother. I was sent to Atlanta, Georgia by bus each Friday after school with a group of other tall girls who were chosen. It was not easy; it was real work. I graduated two years later with a diploma, even before I graduated from high school. We were all surprised at how hard I had to work there. During my time at this school I entered a Model of the Year competition, where I won first place with a scholarship to study drama at a university in Sacramento California. I was not finished with high school yet; therefore, the answer to that was no. However, since my uncle was a photograper, my mother allowed me to travel with him after my high school graduation, and only during the summers when I was not in college. I had many opportunities to model and do some acting while traveling with him. Although I did well modeling, I was fired from my first acting job because I refused to perform in a love scene nude. I don't regret that, for I have an eleven year daughter now, which is what I was thinking back then "(someday I will have children)." Today, I am a school teacher who is constantly haunted by people asking me why didn't I pursue a career in singing, or acting. I love teaching because I can bring the characters to life by acting them out to keep my students from becoming bored. I also encourage my students to repeat what they have learned during my lectures by giving me feedback in any form of art. June of 2002, I was offer a singing job by the owner of The Tony Wilson Show after he heard me sing during a game we played at a wedding where his band was hired to perform. Later that year Mr. Wilson asked me to accompany him to a play rehearsal where Philip Michael Thomas was also holding auditions for one of his plays. Mr. Thomas took one look at me, and asked whether I could sing. He then asked me to sing the Pocahontas song and read a character from his play. Mr. Wilson later told me on the way home that Mr. Thomas was mesmerized by my performance, he quoted Mr. Thomas as saying, "This woman sends chills through my spine on that stage. Are you sure she has never taken lessons before?" Mr. Thomas did offer me two parts in his play, he also gave me a book autographed personally to me, "You have a natural talent to entertain; do not allow any one to hold you back, even now. This is your calling." Because of that message and meeting Mr. Thomas, I have decided to pursue my dream. March of 2004, I went to an audition that called for specific characters: one being a white woman in her 30's to play a doctor. This was a lead part. The writer/producer took one look at me, pointed in my direction and said, "Let's try her." I auditioned for that part, and two weeks later I received a phone call from one of his crew members who informed me that I had the part. I am not White; I am a Black Puerto Rican, and I was not in my 30's (I was 45 years old). The short film was entered in the film festival and won best film, best leading actor, best supporting actress (me), and best editor. The writer/producer later took his film to Spain, where it did very well there too. I received an email from Mr. Valdez-Iga, the writer/producer of that film from Spain. He told me never to give up. Like Mr. Thomas, he reminded me of my innate ability to entertain. With that message I auditioned for a role to play in one of the two new pilots, "Desire" and "Fashion House" scheduled to air September 05, 2006, on My networkTV 33. Results are forthcoming no later than late October. When I finally reach where God is sending me with this, he should bless Mr. Philip Michael Thomas for inspiring me and giving me the strength and audacity to pursue such a competitive career at my age. Tina Turner did it, thus, so shall I.

I am not particular, for it can be part-time back up singing in order for me to keep practice for future recording endeavors.
